Tiltle: Data Science & Analytics Career Development and Opportunities in the Era of Digitalization
The presentation will cover the targets and components towards building Malaysia’s Digital Economy. It shall also include the purpose of the Malaysia’s Digital Economic Blueprint (MDEB) and National 4IR Policy, and opportunities for data science and analytics careers based on these plans, recent studies and surveys.

Salim is the Talent Cluster Lead at MyDigital Corporation, the agency tasked to deliver the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint, a national initiative to transform Malaysia into a digitally driven and regional leader in the digital economy. One of its key roles is to facilitate prviate sector's involvement in government projects towards this goal.
Salim also currently leads the policy and advocacy work for Digital Inclusion at Axiata, one of the largest digital companies in Asia. Salim first joined Axiata in 2009, as a strategy analyst before assuming various roles across their telco and digital subsidiaries. He has built a strong track record of managing digital portfolios and programs as well as corporate affairs across the group.
Salim was previously at Accenture, Frost and Sullivan and other consultancies along with stints in banking, healthcare and infrastructure, working across sub-Sahara Africa and Southeast Asia. He holds a BSc. in IT from the Charles Sturt University, Australia.
